Acidity and Weight Gain

Understanding acidity is important. You don’t need to understand the science and chemistry behind it however you do need to understand that your body needs to be at around 7.4 for optimal health.

High acid pH in the body = the disease path…

Most of the people that live in the western world have chronically acid systems and the link between acidity and disease is now gaining the attention of the medical industry. Scientists now know that chronic acidity leads to a deadly cycle of toxic build up and oxygen depletion in the body. This can result in serious illness and disease. There are many causes of acidity – sugar, processed foods, high meat diet, alcohol, medications, low blood sugar levels and high insulin levels. High insulin levels are a direct cause of excess body fat. Insulin is a fat storage hormone.

Unfortunately, when most people come to us they have an acidic pH. However, it always astounds me how amazing our bodies are. It tries so desperately to work with us however for some reason we don’t always listen! Our body has mechanisms such as breathing, circulation, digestion, and hormone production to balance pH levels by removing acid residue from body tissues. The bottom line is that if we don’t listen to our symptoms of acidity and our pH
deviates into the acidic side our cells will be poisoned by our own internal toxins and we die!

There is no question about it this…what you eat has a huge impact on your overall health. One of the founders of the prestigious Hippocrates Health Institute said, “The food you eat can be either be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.”

Getting a better pH in the body isn’t just about fat loss, it’s about life, living life to its fullest. Once you start to feel more energised and vibrant not to mention leaner you will appreciate all the rewards that your body will offer you.
